I took ketotifen over 12 years ago especially for sleep on airplanes. It knocks you out indeed, but next day it made very groggy

Advised him not to do it via comments - he had some dental treatment where they 'rebuild' your teeth up instead of just worrying about occlusion. That included new crowns in front that are visually big for his age.
He seems to have aged quite a bit in the last few years and you can definitely tell He has veneers on his front upper teeth. all that really matters is longevity though.
